If you follow his descendants you will see the link to the LEECE, SYERS and BACKHOUSE links. There are two families linked to the Isle of man. The DRINKWATER LEECE family and the BUTCHERs both descend from the original Peter. I also think that the Great Budworth family descend from William of Witton (son Samuel born 1768 Witton died 1817 Anderton) married to Mary ADAMS ditto in turn from the original Peter. His son Charles was born and lived at Great Budworth, had a large family and was a farmer and publican (m Ann EDWARDS) George DRINKWATER of Over born 1794 son of Samuel... James DRINKWATER 1766-1807 another son of William and Sarah b Witton ... his son Samuel married and moved his family to Liverpool.. It was his descendants that later moved to the Isle of Man and later descendants have settled in Wellington, New Zealand.

for the various registers, and indeed this shows that the LDS _have_ (now?)
filmed earlier registers. Similarly for Halton. By the way, as Halton was
only a chapelry there would have been no marriages there between 1754 and
(at least) 1837 - there are some Cheshire chapelries with marriages in that
timescale (e.g. St. Helen's at Witton) but not many?
